THE FLOOD

Approaching 500 miles so far on the motorcycle since we got here, I am thankful for the safety Sharon and I have experienced. Yesterday the 'bar' was set alittle higher as we had to drive rush hour CEBU traffic in massively flooded streets. The sky opened up and the ark floated by. But we made it back to shofar alive. It was worth it though. I really needed an espresso...

YOUTH CAMP COME AND GONE...

Wow...a whirlwind trip for sure! The team arrived on wednesday and was immediately 'thrown into the pool.' 60 kids this year...it was a bash for sure. The team overcame their jetlag and did a great job teaching and leading. We are praying for long term fruit from our efforts. Everyones alive. We're telling suzie that she's in Milwaukee...so play along, ok?

FEEDIN' THE CHICKENS

Ok...sharon has been here too long. She apparently already has chickens. Where are the eggs? This one is getting alittle aggressive rond about feedin' time...she just came right on into the living room of shofar for breakfast. I don't mind it too much unless she starts asking for my coffee...

LESSON #1: RECOGNIZING THE MOOD OF THE TEAM LEADER.

I have carefully constructed a sophisticated method of allowing the team to recognize my current and ever changing mission trip mood. I hope this works for them...because they're kinda slow and simple folks....

VISITING ILAG

The team visited the church in Ilag and began preliminary plans for our work on the local church there. The church is excited to have the church in better condition than it is in. Being extremely remote and without much funding, anything we can do will be a big help. Thanks Gnosko fellowship! Everyone is well. VERY hot here, which is making our work here very difficult but we are making it ok with a lot of sunblock!

IN TRANSIT

We're in Manila today...heading out to Cebu and Shofar on domestic philippine airlines. It's as hot and steamy as you would expect, but its really good to be here! We are all excited to be going out to the 'mission house' and we are anxious to see what God will do with us and in us while we are here. We stayed 'old school' last night...the 'shalom center' christian hotel in Manila. We haven't had an opportunity to come and stay in manila for a few years, and it's good to see everyone there once again. We have come to think of the staff as friends because we have seen them so much through the years. Everyone is good so far...healthy and in fine spirits. We'll report again soon...
